Course Overview



This introductory course will provide an overview of driving rehabilitation. Topics include discussing the role of occupational therapy, clinical driving assessments, popular adaptive equipment available and recommendations, reimbursement and other helpful resources and tips. The latest research findings are also discussed. 

The online class is intended for medical professionals (e.g. OT/OTA, PT/PTA, Physicians, etc.) directly related to the rehabilitation of a patient or client. To participate in this CEU and receive credit, the participant must be a licensed, treating clinician. Completion of this course will reward the participant with .1 CEUs or 1 contact hours, following completion of the presentation and a ≥ 80% score on the quiz. You will have 90 days to complete this course.

Doro is an occupational therapist and founder of The Neuro Hub located in Central Florida. A graduate of Advent Health University, Doro provides her passion and over 10 years of experience in neurological rehabilitation through a client-centered, evidence-based treatment approach.    Doro’s main focus at The Neuro Hub is providing specialty programs for stroke survivors such as BCI, Constraint-Induced Movement Therapy, Custom Intensive Programs, and Driver Rehabilitation.  Since 2022, Doro has been the co-host of the podcast Noggins and Neurons - Brain Injury Recovery simplified. She is certified by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy, licensed by the Florida Department of Health. She is a Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS), Certified Stroke Rehabilitation Specialist (CSRS) and Certified Driving Rehab Specialist (CDRS). Doro is well versed in utilizing high tech equipment such as Brain Computer Interface (BCI). 

Rachel Penn

OTR/L, CDRS

Rachel Penn is a Certified Driving Rehabilitation Specialist and licensed Occupational Therapist from Longwood, Florida. She is a graduate of AdventHealth University earning a master’s in occupational therapy in 2013. Rachel is a proud member of the American Occupational Therapy Association, Inc., The Association for Driving Rehabilitation Specialists, and registered with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy. Throughout her career, Rachel has worked with clients across clinical, educational, and natural environment settings obtaining extensive experience working with a wide variety of neurological and developmental disorders including Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Stroke, and TBI. Following extensive training, she has been awarded badges by ADED for the specialties of Autism and Older Adults as well as a certificate by Evergreen Certifications as a Certified Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist. She has experience in conducting driver evaluations and training with low and mid-tech equipment. Rachel is extremely passionate about driving rehabilitation and her focus has always been to identify ways to assist clients in becoming as independent as possible.
