Course Overview
This presentation discusses the current evidence for pediatric adapted standing. An introduction to postural management provides a comprehensive review of the published literature on standing interventions to decrease secondary complication in cerebral palsy. A further discussion of the benefits of trunk control and light physical acitvity for developing children will emphasize standing position opportunities to positively impact life-long health. Finally, a demonstration of an adaptive standing device will provide positioning concepts for age-appropriate standing intervention as the implementation of the evidence.
The online class is intended for medical professionals (e.g. OT/OTA, PT/PTA, Physicians, etc.) directly related to the rehabilitation of a patient or client. To participate in this CEU and receive credit, the participant must be a licensed, treating clinician. Completion of this course will reward the participant with .2 CEUs or 2 contact hours, following completion of the presentation and a ≥ 80% score on the quiz. You will have 90 days to complete this course.
